Blow wind blow.
Blow all the patients with MRSA. O_O
Mon was my third day in the ward and first day with my preceptor. And yes, she is very nice and very good (: THANK GOD! (: (: abt 2 hours after starting the shift they decided to convert our cubicle for MRSA. T_T
While we were attending to one patient, they'd happily changed two of our patients with MRSA patients from other rooms in the ward. So total we had 3 MRSA patients, half of the cubicle now having infection control cases.
So i was nursing onco+MRSA patients. what a combination! Have to change PPE with each diaper changing, etc. So ma fan. And imagine i didnt know their diagnosis and all cus no time to pass report of the 'new' patients. Its been so long i almost forgot how to wear PPE and how humid it is inside that thick gown.
Week 2 and 3 are juniour work so ive been readjusting myself to ward routine, layout and all the SGH charts and ways. Have not been in SGH for 6 months so pretty rusty. Thankfully we are still on junior work, things are still ok. The stress will officially start on week 4.
Learning lots of the admin part of the staff nurse from my preceptor. Never knew theres so much admin behind simple procedures. Ordering new meds from pharmacy, faxing change of diet, death certs etc etc etc.....all the paperwork too...think so far ive only learned the tip of the iceberg of paperwork we're required to do. XD
I don't have night shift for week 2 and 3 (: (:
And i can go for g12, though not service.
I will miss one ballet but can go for 2 church dance practices.
week 4 schedule is not out.
AND MY GIRLS AGREED TO SUIT MY TIMING! PRAISE GOD! i cant believe i can have cell with them every sat! Thanks girls (: (: (:
